Forest fires are one of the most visible ways that global warming is increasing and our forests are disappearing. They affect large areas of the world including Turkey, Indonesia, Australia, Brazil, and the USA. Forests are destroyed not just by fires but also by humans creating flatlands for plantations and farms. one of the ways that they do create large areas of land fast is by doing controlled burns that often get out of control. When a large forest fire occurs, it is large enough to produce its own wind. this enables it grow and spread faster. this happens in the amazon and in California. In the Amazon, these fires are especially bad because there is also deforestation happening at the same time. it also affects indigenous people. Invasions of indigenous land have increased significantly since these fires have started. This is the fault of the president who wanted to economize the areas of the amazon. Bolsonaro has allowed loggers and other workers to destroy nature reserves and other forested areas for lumber. the fires are usually controlled burns that get out of hand and grow to massive sizes. The only way that this will stop is if the country changes its ideas of internal colonialism in their country.
