How Positive and Negative Words Have Different Effects on Humans

Humans use words to convey information and emotions all the time. These words affect how we act, how we feel, and can control certain aspects of our bodies. Something called effect is how we feel throughout the day, and positive effect and negative effect have very different results on our bodies. Positive and negative effects can be caused by certain words conveying emotion. For example, if someone was helped when they made a mistake in order to help them learn, they would be influenced by positive effects, as opposed to if they were punished, which would be negative. Positive moods have been shown to increase things like happiness and socialization, while negative moods are related to anger, depression, and weak health. Negative mindsets result in stress, and lots of stress can have adverse effects on your body, and especially on the heart. I think that it's interesting that something as seemingly small as positive and negative words can have so much sway over our mental and physical health. Using this to our advantage through cognitive behavioral therapy is smart because it lets us help people who might have mental problems like depression or chronic anxiety and teach them that changing your mindset from negative to positive can alter their life greatly. It is fascinating that even just reading certain words can turn the tide from negative to positive or vice versa. This goes to show that words have a lot more power than many of us think.
