Endangered languages

Currently there are about 5000 to 6000 languages that are being used all over the world. This number will begin to sink into the lower thousands because powerful groups will take over the smaller groups and the smaller groups will have to integrate with a new culture. people will learn the new language and stop using their original language and soon it will have been forgotten entirely. right now, there are islands with over 900 languages that are spoken on them. Soon, these islands will have to merge with larger powers and they will lose their traditions and languages. Language loss affects not only speach, but culture, religion, ceremonies, prayers, the way people greet each-other. language loss is a large problem not only for a culture itself but for the world because it creates less diversity.
